Standard roof smoke ventilators are composed with a 305 mm-high metallic upstand , on which is fitted a bitumen-coated thermal insulation ready to receive directly the bitumen waterproofing membrane or PVC membrane. On request, standard roof smoke ventilators can be delivered with a height of upstand up to 500 mm (Thermal coefficient : U = 2.5 W/m2 °K), an aluminium edging frame designed to protect the edges of the filling. They are equipped with an opening frame whose opening is actuated manually by a winch as standard and by an optional pneumatic or electrical system.
The force of opening is given by two air-and-oil jacks integrated into the unit and kept closed under pressure. The closing of the opening frame is actuated manually and remotely from the ground by actionning the crank which provocates the rolling-up of the cable.They could be too equipped with an opening frame that is actuated by pneumatic energy through a control box with Opening / Closing positions. The force of opening relates to the pneumatic Opening / Closing jack integrated into the unit. Striking one or two cartridges fo the opening and one for the closing actuates the remote opening and closing.
